CS 1996 "City of Zurich – Centre Zürich North: Sustainable urban development"

Zentrum Zürich Nord
  • How to develop a town quarter with urban living quality out of an industrial area?
  • What are the necessary investments?
  • What are the needs for a sustainable urban development?

We tried to answer these questions by reflecting the Center Zurich North (ZNN), one of Switzerland's largest re-use projects of industrial areas. The main focus was on the treatment of contaminated sites, the water management, possible alternatives of green areas, and the planning of local traffic.
